The wall angel is a great exercise to strengthen your back and help to open up rounded shoulders.

The goal of this exercise is to improve shoulder rotation, upper back activation, scapular mobility, anterior shoulder and chest muscle release.

Some technique points to remember:

  1. Keep your heels, tailbone, your upper back, and your head against the wall
  2. Tuck your chin in
  3. Keep your elbows and hands on the wall
  4. Maintain around a 90-degree angle in your elbows
  5. Raise your arms until you shoulders start to elevate.  Don’t let your shoulders hike

If you find the exercise too difficult to do on the wall, you can do it lying on the ground. The same technique applies.
